Hello friends,
I need some advice! We have a cat and a dog. We are leaving in 2 weeks for Easter and I always take the dog home with us because my mother doesn't care and has 2 dogs of her own. The cat is a new addition (we adopted her in December) and H wants to leave her home alone for the weekend. I've never had a cat and this makes me nervous, but H says his parents do it all the time. My Mom's house is not an option because one of her dogs is cat-vicious. His parents would probably take her, but H really doesn't want to ask them because it would cause a lot of extra work. Our cat is allowed on the furniture. Their cats are not. Our cat is not allowed outside, their cats are. Their cats are also older and would get upset and cause general havoc.
We're going to be gone Friday late. We're not leaving until like 5pm. All day Saturday and we would be back Sunday evening. We would leave an automatic feeder and an extra litter box. We don't have anyone to look in on her. We don't know anyone up here that we would trust in our home
We're moving back closer to home soon, so this is the one time this is going to an issue...sigh.
Advice? Has anyone left their cat home alone before? Am I being silly and paranoid?
Re: *Cat People* I need some advice.
We have two cats. We will leave them home for 2-3 days with no one stopping by. Past that we try to have someone stop in. Our cats share 1 can of wet food a day, plus they eat dry food. When we leave them we would fill both smal
I leave my cat about once a month for the weekend. She does just fine...
We have SIL come check on her if she's available, just to give her treats, but it really isn't necessary.
Your kitty should be fine - just leave enough food and
Definitely do it! We've left our cat home alone for a week by herself and she was just fine- She hates traveling and anyone that isn't us, so it suits her perfectly.
(It took a lot of self-control not to type "purrfe
I agree with the others....2-3 days is fine for kitty to be left alone, just make sure they have lots of water (or leave the toilet accessible! Haha), some extra food and litter. If we are gone longer then just the weekend we get the neighbor to check
