Putting one of our furbabies to sleep ~

I have not been on here in a couple of years but now I have a very important question.  We have 3 furbabies the oldest is almost 15 and the other 2 are 12.  The one that we are going to have to put to sleep is the baby of the 15 year old and has heart failure.  We have contacted the vet and when the time comes he will come to the house to put her down.  I didn't want her to have to go to the vet and have that be the last place she sees.  So my question is what is the best thing for the furbabies that we have ~ do I have them home when the vet comes and let them know she is gone or do I send them to my in-laws and bring them home after the vet leaves?  We have never had to do this and it if proving to be one of the most heartbreaking thing we have ever had to do.

  • I'd probably send them to your inlaws. Not sure if it's the right thing to do. What a tough decision and I'm so so sorry you're dealing with this. ::hugs::
  • We were in the position a few years ago when we were ready to put down our 16 year old.  Our vet suggested we put the other two outside during the procedure.  DH actually went out with them because he couldn't bear to be in the house with us. &n
