What is everyones opinions on selling your wedding dress after the wedding?

We got married 6 months ago. My dress is from Davids cost about 500 and had no alterations done.

After the wedding I brought my dress home and hung it in our living room closet and there it is.

Money is really tight now, and I've been thinking about selling my dress. We will be ok if I don't but it sure would help. Also, I HATED my dress, I basically was told pick from whats available and like it. However no matter how much I hate it, it was MY dress.

Thoughts?

    A lot of people choose to sell their wedding gowns. ebay is an option or Craigslist, but you might actually have better luck selling it to a consignment store. If it is in good shape, clean, and a popular style, you may get $100-200 for it.

    I think this depends on your attachment and expectations. Seems like you aren't that attached. But you don't say how much you want for it. I agree with the PP that said they would be surprised if you got $200 for it. Dresses just don't hold value once the

    You can also cosign it or donate it to a good cause or see if a local theatre company/high school theatre group can use it.

    You'll get a tax write off for the donation.

    If you aren't super sentimental about it, I'd say sell it. I also didn't care about my dress, and I would have sold it if I hadn't gotten it completely filthy on the dancefloor! Ha ha
