Normally I work and then we either make dinner together or go out to dinner and he either makes or buys me a cake and I open gifts. If we are talking about what I would like to do... I would take the day off and have a mini spa day, 1 hour massage, man
Our birthdays are 17 days apart, and we used to just go on vacation.
Money is tight this year, so we just told the other what we wanted and we each chose a dinner out. We're not big party/bar/club people.
We'll usually go out to dinner or have a get together at our house. This year, we had two different dinners, one with friends and one with my family.
