Can you have pink eye without the pinkness?

Wes came down with a really bad cold this week. Yesterday his eyes started watering and this morning he woke up with them sealed completely shut (SO sad -- he was crying "mommy where are you?")! They are still very watery and glassy looking, but not pink. Does that sound like sinuses, or pink eye? We have a dr's appt in a few hours, but I was debating whether we should have lunch at my parents' house as planned, or skip it if we think he could have pink eye...

Eleni gets snot backed up in her sinuses all the time and it causes the sticky eye problem. If he has a could, I wouldn't assume it is pink eye. especially without the other symptoms. And if it still isn't red now I doubt it is pink eye

Yeah I think a blocked tear duct is common during a cold. It has happened to my daughter a couple of times. Try massaging the corner of his eye with a warm wash cloth.
