Appraisal

How long after contracts did it take for someone to contact you (as the seller) to come in and do an appraisal?

  • In our case (and most case I would think), the bank sends the appraiser. So as a buyer we don't have control. I think ours was done about 2 and a half weeks after contract. Btw, not all appraisers tour the house, so you may not get a call. Many just drive
  • If you have a realtor you wont hear from the appraiser at all.  The appraiser will contact the listing agent to set up the appointment. Timing completely depends on how busy appraisers are in your area.
