Moms - Easter egg hunt for my 2 yr old?

Hi,

I know I'm not around much anymore, but I hope everyone is doing well! I plan to hide eggs around the house on Easter Sunday for Spencer to find. Should I put anything in them? Originally I thought the thrill of looking for the eggs would be enough, but MIL gave Spencer her Easter basket this past weekend and put some dollar bills inside the eggs, and Spencer really engjoyed opening them up and seeing something inside. Any ideas on what I can put inside the eggs?

Thanks!

Alyssa

  • You could do a few jellybeans or something, and maybe stickers in most of them?

  • My MIL filled EJ's easter eggs at that age with cereal. I think it was chex. and EJ asked they be filled up again and again and again. SO it worked. :o)

This year I am splitting up a lego set in the eggs to try to limit the candy she ends up wit

  • I think either way is fine. We went to an egg hunt this weekend and there was candy in the eggs, but I know Claire's also loved just playing with the eggs themselves now that they're empty:)
  • I would like to avoid putting candy in them because her Easter basket has a few pieces of chocolate and marshmallow peeps. The stickers are the cereal are great ideas. She loves Cheerios and Corn Chex, so that might work. :-)

  • At that age, I put in coins for the piggybanks and goldfish! (And, fwiw, even with an almost-6 yr old, I'm still looking to avoid a lot of candy!)
