Registry ?

Did you put things on your registry that you wouldn't need until the baby was 6+ months old (like solid food stuff)?  My shower is next weekend but not a lot of stuff has been purchased off the registry, so I'm guessing either people are going off registry or else there's going to be a bunch of stuff bought this weekend.  Trying to decide if I should just take off all the stuff that we don't need right away so we don't end up having to buy a bunch of stuff before he's born.

Re: Registry ?

  • I haven't done my registry yet, but I think I will put things on it that the baby will need at 6 months old (like a high chair?).

I bet most people just haven't shopped for your shower yet. I think a lot of people are "last minute". I have

  • I left a lot on there for 6mon +. Also, mine was untouched until the day of.

We have a shower to go to this weekend and just went today to get her gift. Way early IMO. I'm a 'get it on the way' gal.

  • Yeah, I put bowls, utensils, sippy cups, etc on there.  I know we won't need them right away, but they've been on other people's registries I've shopped off of, and I needed some filler.

  • Yes, I put things like a jumper and high chair and the bigger items, but didn't worry too much about the smaller items. I figured if nobody bought them I'd want the discount on them to purchase them myself.

  • I put a high chair, bowls and spoons, a jumperoo....I figure anything you might need in the first year is totally reasonable.

  • Yes. We just kept the high chair in the box until we needed it, then DH set it up. I also had a box of sippy cups, bowls, spoons, etc. It was so nice to already have those things when we needed them and not have to run out and buy them! Plus I got a bunch

  • I only put stuff we would need right away. We can worry about the other stuff later, but I wanted to make sure I had covered everything to start with. Plus, it's less that you have to buy right away

  • I did not put the 6+ month stuff on there-- largely because i didn't have time to put in the research on the highchair and other items-- it was all I could handle to get the immediate stuff on there.

  • The only item we put on there was a high chair. People bought us spoons and bowls and sippy cups anyway even though we didn't register for them. We also got a lot of clothes for older babies - most of the clothes we got are in 6-9 month size actually.

  • I put our high chair on there as well as some spoons and bowls. I figured it couldn't hurt plus we actually ended up being gifted some of those things as well as clothes in a wide variety of ranges.
