We were looking at going to Disney in September but DD is starting kindergarten this year it's only for 2 1/2 hrs that she will be going for. I know the 2nd week of school they will have Labor day off + the 2 days (thurs and Fri) off for the Jewish holiday. DH now is looking at trying to go that week this way DD only misses 2 days of school vs 5. What do you ladies think? This would be the only year we would be taking her out of school for a trip bc after that any trip will have to be during school vacas or summer time. We can't go in the summer bc DH is having surgery and will not be able to move alot for for about 6 weeks and than needs to start PT. So he would like to try and go September. At 1st I thought this would be easy seeing as its just kindergarten and she goes to pre school now for 2 1/2 hrs and there are kids in her class who's parents take them out of school for a week for trips so it wouldn't be a big deal. But just not sure about kindergarten.
Re: Disney in September? child starting kindergarten...
We pulled our daughter out of Kindergarten for a month to travel last October. If it was regular K, I wouldn't have blinked an eye, but she was starting full French immersion. But then I thought "I'm taking her to France and Morocco.
I wouldn't hesitate for kindergarten. I love going to Disneyworld but we won't go when schools are out because it is just too busy. So if we want to go, we will have to pull the kids out of school for a bit.
I think you will be fine. We took DD the first week of Sept last year (now granted she was only 3.5). We walked on most rides but it was HOT still.
Have fun!
Do it and have a fabulous time! :-)
