Cooking school/classes for a gift

Trying to come up with something for DH's birthday.

Apparently Viking in Bryn Mawr is no longer around.

Looking for a fun workshop/class we can do together (DH is already a good cook whereas I suck) for a night out. The  PA 'burbs are ideal but will consider all areas.

Thanks!

Re: Cooking school/classes for a gift

  • I believe Reading Terminal Market has something, Walnut Hill Cooking, local night schools (Chester County has something), and I think there is one near the DE boarder.  Where are you located?
  • I've taken a couple of classes at Sur La Table at the King of Prussia Mall and they have all been great. They do a date night series, which is fun for a night out. DH and I did a grilling themed class last summer.
  • We're near Fort Washington/Willow Grove.

I'll check out Sur La Table in KoP!

  • I don't have recs but I LOVE this idea!

  • I never knew Sur La Table had classes.  I looked it up, and think we may do that grilling one.  It sounds fun!
  • H and I took a cooking class at the Restaurant School in University City.  It was such a great date night!

  • Bummer that Viking closed. That place was great.

I know you prefer the burbs but the Reading Terminal one is really fun.

  • I was so bummed when I found out Viking Bryn Mawr closed.  I tried to take classes a couple times each year.  Like others have mentioned, you should check out Walnut Hill Restaurant School in Philly.  They offer community cooking lessons, s
