Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. Making sure musical artists get credit ??

If you buy a cd from say a site like Amazon.com, does the musical artist get credit? I love to save money but not when it comes to making sure these people get the credit they deserve.

I assume they do get credit through a site like iTunes even though iTunes must take a nice cut.

Where are some good places to buy cd's to ensure the artists are aware of the sale and receives proper credit for the sale?

  • I'm not totally sure on this, but here's how I'm under the impression that it goes: for a sale of an mp3 or a new cd, the artist gets royalties - not sure if this is a set dollar amount or a % of the sale price; for a used cd, the artist gets nothing, but
