So my wedding dress is still hanging in my spare closet. Essentially untouched since the wedding day, haha. I had eventually planned on having it cleaned, preserved, etc., but out of sight, out of mind, you know?
Anyways, I was just curious what you guys have done with your gowns. For those of you that had them cleaned and preserved, how much did you pay? Through the boutique I bought my gown at, they charge $205 + $20 for the veil, so $225. I have a coupon for $50 off though since I bought my dress from them. However, I feel like $175 is a lot of money to spend on a dress that I'll never wear again, you know? Our dry cleaners also advertises wedding dress cleaning/preserving (they call it heirlooming, haha).
Just curious!
Re: Wedding dress?
I have had my dress cleaned and heirloomed back in October after our Rock the Dress shoot. I felt it was worth it to protect it from yellowing and get eaten by moths or something. I bought my dress at David's Bridal and paid $99 for the preservation. H
I got lucky, my mom took it to the cleaners while we were on our honeymoon and had it picked up by the time we got back. So now it's sitting in my old bedroom in a nice box at my parents house. I think it was around $200-250 to have it preserved.

I guess I thought about doing a TTD shoot...but honestly, I can't muster up enough enthusiasm to do so. I'm still sick to my stomach to think about my wedding photographer losing all the video cards of the video clips she took from the wedding. &
