J and I are planning a trip to Italy this fall. We can only get away for 8 days, so we are just going to stay in Rome. Can you suggest an area we should book our room? The Spanish Steps, The Panthenon, etc. Bonus points if you can reccomend an actual hotel.

We stayed near the train, but like PP mentioned - it's kind of a sketchy area to walk around. Our hotel was beautiful and modern, though.

We did this to get into the Vatican - it was well worth it. Literally no lines to get in other than security (a few minutes). If we hadn't gotten tix in advance, we would have been waiting in a line wrapped around the GIANT building.
