Priceline/Hotwire

Has anyone used Priceline/Hotwire before?  Do you like it?  Do you have a preference of one or the other?

We're taking a trip in June and splitting up the driving, so I'm looking for a pretty cheap hotel for the night.  We'll get to the hotel around 11 - 11:30pm and then leave hopefully around 8 the next morning.  It just scares me using Priceline/Hotwire because I don't know the hotel until after I booked.

  • I have used priceline several times for Boston, MA  & NYC.

I always request a 4 start hotel and have never been disappointed.  I have never paid more than 100.00 per night and thats a great deal for those places!!

  • There are websites that teach you how to bid on these sites and also have a listing of what hotels are in what star levels in various areas of cities.

  • I have used both and have been happy every time.  Like PP mentioned, I used betterbidding.com so I had a good idea of what I was getting.

Another website I have been but haven't used is hotwirerevealed.com

  • I LOVE Priceline & use it whenever possible.

However, when I care about the location where I'm staying, I'm willing to pay more to the location I want.  For example DH & I are planning a trip to Disneyland in California.&
