Sleep Training Success!

We started sleep training with M last Thursday. We did CIO and went in to reassure her at set intervals. The first night was 3 minutes for the first wait, then 5 minutes, then 10 minutes until she fell asleep. The first night it took her 90 minutes to fall asleep but she slept 8 hours straight. The second night she only cried for 22 minutes at bedtime and then slept for 11.5 hours! She has cried for less time at bedtime each night and she's slept at least 8 hours straight each night.

This is such a huge improvement from multiple nightly wakings and only sleeping in our bed or on the couch with me holding her. DH and I finally get to sleep all night long in bed together! Yay for sleep!

I am still amazed at how much our lives revolve around a sleep schedule now. You must feel like a new person...

  • Congratulations! Did she always sleep like that before CIO (in your bed, wakeful, etc)?
