Play dates, guns and the question...
Read an interesting article on CNN about "Play dates, guns and the question, 'Is there a gun in the house?' When you should ask", which talked about how to approach your child's friends parents on the topic, when they go for playdates.

With having a young child, just learning to walk I haven't even considered how I would approach once she gets a little older. It seems like the best way is to ask the parent if guns are in their homes and how they're secured.
How have you addressed this with other parents?

As of right now, EJ knows about guns being dangerous and are not toys. A police officer visited her school and started that discussion. Which was nice. She also knows if she sees a gun, she should tell an adult immediately and not to touch it. She also
