Update to my Priceline/Hotwire dilemma!

I decided to go ahead and use priceline and hotwire for our vacation in June.  Hoping I'm not disappointed! :-)

For our one-night stay in Knoxville, I used hotwire.  I ended up getting Quality Inn in Alcoa, TN for $36.64 after all the taxes and fees!  I was pretty excited about that.

I used Priceline's name your price for our stay in Gatlinburg.  I chose the Gatlinburg/North Gatlinburg area and a 3 star hotel.  We got Glenstone Lodge for $70/night ($167.10 after all the taxes and fees).  I was pretty sure that was going to be the hotel we ended up with - on Hotwire, they had a Gatlinburg South hotel for $78/night, which again, I'm pretty sure was Glenstone Lodge.

Overall I'm pretty happy - I think if I was to do it again, I probably would have bidded a tad lower, but $70/night is pretty good in June for Gatlinburg I believe!

Hoping that hotel is good! :-)

  • Awesome! Hope you guys have a good trip. DH uses some combination of Priceline, Hotwire and maybe Expedia when he books trips to Vegas. He and a buddy of his have somehow mastered the art of booking 4 and 5 star hotels on the strip for super cheap. No clu
