s/o road trips- would you travel with newborn?

i'm due in July. i also have a 3 year old. i'd like to go to the beach this summer b/c the 3 year old will love it, will keep him entertained (close to pool and beach) we've gone every year with him, and it will be a nice change of scenery for me on maternity leave. if i have the baby on my due date....the baby would be 6 weeks old at that time. the trip takes about 7 hours. am i crazy to consider this? am i forgetting what its like to have a newborn?

When my oldest daughter was about 10 weeks old we went to the beach. The 7 hour trip actually took us more like 9 hours with stops for feedings. She did very well on the drive there but she hated the ride home. I don't think you are totally crazy for c

We did trips from Pit to NYC with both our boys. One was 5 weeks the first trip, the other 6 weeks. The trip was fine. We stopped to nurse & I did some pumping in the car to have a bottle ready.

No....we traveled 6 hours with a 4 week old for kid 2 and flew with a 3 week old for kid 1. I will say it was easier flying than driving as kid 2 hated the car seat. But again, traveling doesn't bother us. My only concerns would be if yo

Sure. Just plan on it taking longer than 7 hours, since you will have to stop and feed every 2-3 hours.
