Runners- Weekly checkin!

Good morning ladies!

How did everyone do this weekend with their running goals?  What is the plan for this week?  Tips, tricks, or accomplishments?

Emmy, Did you and Brian just run locally or did you get out to a trail?

I ran 2.8 miles on Friday (followed by like 4 hours of painting) and woke up Saturday with tired legs which made Yoga challenging!

Sunday I ran a short 1.8 mile run over some hills at South Park, there were a lot of people out walking, biking and running.

I am signed up for a 5k this Sunday, so my runs will probably be pretty easy leading up to that.  Planning on getting out Wednesday as well as maybe a short run Friday.  Debating on yoga Saturday or not.

  • Good morning!!

Brian & I went out on Saturday, but just ran in our neighborhood because we went before tball so we didn't have enough time to drive somewhere.  I also ran yesterday (Brian was doing yard work, so I went out by myself whil

  • Yay for the checkin!

I ran on Saturday and it was my best feeling run so far. I've kicked up my MPH a little each time (I run on a treadmill) and still felt good. I'm with Emmy, though, I'm amazed at how tired I can feel. PLEASE tell me it gets

  • I don't consider myself a runner, but will check in because I actually did run this weekend :-P.  I ran/walked for 2.25 miles Saturday morning onthe Montour Trail.

Sunday DH and I took the kids for a 9 mile bike ride on the Panhandl

  • Emmy and Gwen, trust the program.  It never let me down, and gradually builds your endurance.  But also along the way I learned how to pace myself and not sprint during the run sections of the interval and not be able to finish the running porti
  • Oh I want to join the checkin! I didn't run this weekend though, haha! I had a friend in town and was sick. But I decided last night to give the C25k a try! I used to not be able to run at all but this past year I've been getting in better shape and wi

  • This week was a big fail for me. I tried to get a run in, but I went to the gym during the thunderstorm around 6:30. Guess how likely it was that I got a treadmill?? I did the elliptical just to get some work in.

I'm having a really hard time

  • I was all over the place this week.  I couldn't get to my first two runs of the week until the evening, and I just don't run my best then.

    Day 1: 3.1 miles/36:00 (5 min warm up, run 15 min/walk 1min x2)
    Day 2: 4 miles/48:

  • It really is hard to fit it in when you are not used to making it a priority.  But yesterday for example, Kev and I went to brunch. After we got back we knew one of us had to grocery shop, EJ had to be taken to a party, and I wanted to run. So he did
  • As for having time - you just have to make time.  The most difficult thing for me was just making the time and not making excuses.  Once I got into the habit of running, it was much easier to make the time.

I run at least 3x a week and

  • Hey ladies.... checking in here.

As many of you saw via FB-- I did my 5k saturday. It really was a great experience all around. Like a dummy I wore a fleece over my other attire and that was dumb. As  I tried to take off and I had to stop a

  • Caron---congrats on the 5K, that's great!!  And I agree, JT would be so proud!! :)

  • I don't run, but I did struggle with adding in an exercise routine.  It just seemed like there was never any time. I already get up before 5am and am work by 6:30, so I didn't want to get up any earlier.  I pick up the kids every day,
  • The only way I'm able to get consistent exercise of any type in is by going in the morning before work. I go the two days I telework, getting up at 5 and getting home by 6:45. Before I teleworked I'd get up, work out, shower and change there and get to

  • Maybe I do need to start getting up early to run. Between 1 full time job with long hours, 2 part time jobs, and a 1 year old my schedule in the evenings is already crazy full. As much as I don't like to even think about it, 4 a.m. might have to be the ne

  • I would love to run with our Golden.  She needs it desperately, but she's only a year, so I want to wait.  Plus, she's still too "puppy" to not trip me up along the way.

I take a 5:30 a.m. class at the gym, done at 6:30, shower and am a
