I am an avid Suze Orman viewer and feel pretty good about our overall financial situation. I know that Suze is very much opposed to using life insurance as a investment vehicle.
Can anyone explain to me exactly why? If I'm not planning to cash it out until retirement, why is it such a "bad" investment?
We are maxing out our other retirement accounts, so why not invest in a whole life policy?
I recently met with someone who is an insurance broker for a large company and his presentation made a lot of sense (understanding that his job is to make it sound that way).
If I'm investing, or buying, $79,000 worth of insurance and looking toward a cash surrender value of $130,000 at age 65, why not?

because of all the fees, whole life and VUL insurance are supposed to be a horrible 'investment'. You are better off buying term life, and investing the rest on your own.... Like PP said.
Life insurance is not an investment. It is INSURANCE- however, think of life insurance as a tool to achieve a goal of yours. The truth is that BOTH types of insurance have their place, depending on what you want them to do for you.
