Hey everybody! I am new to this board. I have been lurking for a few days. I post a lot over on the wedding forums but I came to this board in search of some advice.
First, let me introduce myself. My name is Sierra. I am from Erie, PA. 23yrs old. No college degree. I have job experience in health care, food service (its been years since doing that), office environments (receptionist) and my most recent position was in insurance as a customer service rep. I just lost that job on Monday.
I kinda interested in learning about working from home. Do any of you work from home? How did you find that position? Any tips on how to go about doing this?
Also, any tips on how to find something you really love doing would be great.
Thanks in advance!
Re: New!
Do you have a hobby or skill or talent that you can market at home?
There are many people who do it -- artists, cooks, graphic arts people, craftsman (somebody I know did stained glass windows at home in their basement) tailors and many more.
I've known winemakers and freelance writers who have done it also.
If so, you'd cut back on a lot of overhead by working out of your home --- if you're intrerested in marketing a talent, see somebody from SCORE at your local library (these are retired business people who offer advice to those who are interested in starting a business of their own)
You don't need to advertise conventionally: social media is the way to go -- and if you are meeting a client, pick a public place, like a mall food court during off hours.:)
