Travel Time

So H and I are trying to decide what to do for our anniversary. We don't want to spend too much since we have some bigger purchases coming up. We thought about doing a day or weekend trip somewhere just to have a little getaway.

I get off work early on Fridays and so does H so we could leave around 3 or 4 and get on the road and then of course travel back on Sun. How far is too far when traveling for the weekend?

  • I think any travel time over 4 hours, by car, or 1.5, by plane, is too much. We are going to Pittsburgh, from a Cleveland area suburb, and it is less than 3 hours. That leaves most of Friday, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning for fun time :) I love wee

  • I'm with Mailyn. For a long weekend 4 hours travel (by car) is about my max. When we go to the family cabin (6 hour drive) over a "long weekend" we usually take an extra day off and leave after work so we have 3 full days up there to make it worth the

    For a weekend, I would do up to a 4 or 5 hour drive. For day trips, up to 3 hours away.
