Retirement help needed

Both my husband (28) and I (26) work for small companies (1 to 2 employees) who do not offer any type of retirement accounts/options. I would like to start saving for retirement and understand the fundamentals of IRA's (both traditional/Roth) I am afraid though that even putting in the max per year that this will not be contributing enough to retire in our late 50's and am looking for other investment ideas. Thank you so

  • Not sure what kind of health insurance you have, but you might consider funding and HSA too.  That money, unlike an FSA, is yours forever and can be used to pay for health expenses in retirement (likely to be one of your major expenses).
