Would you matchmake for her?

First, I apologize for the AE, but it's sensitive.

My friend has a chronic STD.  She hasn't always been up front with people she has slept with about it.  I cannot bring myself to set up her with any friends because I can't trust she'd be honest about it.  I feel like a bad friend because I distrust this one part of her, but I also feel like I couldn't live with myself if she was anything less than honest with someone I fixed her up with.  Please tell me I'm doing the right thing......

Re: Would you matchmake for her?

  • No I wouldn't. Stay out of it.

  • I don't think it's a good idea to matchmake in general - so your suspicions are just another good reason to MYOB.
  • This person is a grown adult who can find her own men to date. None of this is really any of your business.

This!  Her having an STD really has nothing to do with this.  I wouldn't matchmake regardless.  (Trust me, I've done this.... you don't want to matchmake.)

  • Nope, don't do it.

This is a lot of grey area and besides, I know of no case that ever worked out where Person A introduced B and C.
  • Thanks all for your input.  You've helped a lot.
