Critique my baby registry?
Anyone want to critique my registry? I don't want to post the link but I can message it to you or, if you know my full name, you can search for it on Amazon.
Items not on there because they've been handed down to me: crib, co-sleeper, breast pump, bottles, swing, bassinet, pack n' play.
I can't for the life of me decide which crib sheets I want so those aren't on there yet either.
Re: Critique my baby registry?
That thing creeps me out so bad. I know I'm going to gag the first time I use it.
it is so, so wonderful. It's benefits far outweigh the weird/ick factor. Letranger has my eternal gratitude for that thing.
truth
Nothing major I can pick out, but these are a few things that D loves:
http://www.amazon.com/WubbaNub-22352-Giraffe/dp/B003CK3LDI/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1366916629&sr=1-1&keywords=wubbanub

We also love this sound machine: http://www.amazon.com/Graco-Sweet-Slumber-Sound-Machine/dp/B001GQ2P78/ref=sr_1_3?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1366916718&sr=1-3&keywords=sound+machine.
This is why I make DH do the sucking. I gag just holding down J's arms while he's doing it.

I want to gag right now just thinking about it.
It's TOTALLY worth it though. So much better than the bulb.
I almost want DH to try it on my once so I can see what it feels like but I haven't committed.

Thanks for the tips!
Added a WubbaNub. I had seen them but wondered about the practicality of them. However, there is no denying that they are super cute.
I'm going to hold off on the security blanket to see if this LO becomes attached to things like that or not. MIL is a quilter so I'm sure she'd just love for him to attach to something she's made for him.
I got a different sound machine. I actually got it for myself (damn kids keeping me up late at night on the basketball court behind my house!) but I can hear the thing loop and that drives me crazy. Hopefully the baby is a little more clueless.
Wimps. There is no way those boogers are getting to you.
Ill take a peak at your list.
I suggest hemp breast pads!
lansinoh is a good add on
Baby hangers
we put our convertible carseat on ours. I know it's popular not to but we did.
Ok, here are my comments:
I MUCH preferred the Motherlove Nipple Cream over the Lanolin. It was olive oil based so it spread much easier - the lanolin was way too thick and I felt like I had to wash it off.
I would keep the Avent pacifiers but get rid of the other ones. The Avent ones are a single, solid piece where as the other ones can come apart. Not to mention, more nooks for crud/spitup to collect.
Rectal thermometer. If your baby has a fever, the pedis much prefer a rectal temp because it's more accurate.
If available, get a medium sized wetbag with a zippered pouch in the front. Great for stuffing a clean diaper, some wipes and an outfit change for a super quick outing where you don't want to lug an entire diaper bag.
Cloth diaper friendly diaper cream. We use California Baby for a rash but use regular coconut oil for day to day use. I also liked the Earth Mama Angel Baby cream

My sister suggested hemp or wool but I haven't found anything I like. MIL and I are going fabric shopping next weekend and I'm hoping I might be able to find fabric to make my own...
I've registered for one thing of lansinoh already but it certainly doesn't hurt to request more than one.
Oy, yes. I need hangers and I need to figure out a system to organize the closet. That's one of my current problem areas.
I'll look into the convertible car seat as well.
Thanks!
Great suggestions, thanks! I'm going to keep the variety of pacifiers just because I've heard some kids (mainly my sister's kids) were very particular about which ones they would and would not take. They are inexpensive enough to request a variety and see what works best. That's also what I'm doing for most of the bath/lotion products by registering for the gift starter kits rather than committing to one brand. Other than that, I think I've added all of your other suggestions!
I did not look at your registry so I apologize in advance if Im telling you things you already know. Here are a few of my absolute favorite items Id suggest for any registry....
1--I second Jen's suggestion for MotherLove nipple cream---fabulous invention
2--I like the Bamboobies breast pads, but I have small boobs and dont leak much, so take that for what its worth. (http://buybamboobies.com/)
3--Aden and Anais swaddle blankets
4--Skip Hop Studio diaper bag, mine still looks brand new after nearly 4 years of use. The only nicer bags Ive seen are much more expensive so it depends on your target price point
5--Baby Bjorn Babysitter chair
6--Fisher Price papasan type swing
7--skip hop bottle rack/dryer (http://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-302001-Splash-White/dp/B000I0YYYK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366980090&sr=8-1&keywords=skip+hop+bottle+rack)
8--Video monitor. Motorola makes a really nice and reliable one, but we have this one thats much cheaper and still pretty nice, by The First Years (http://www.amazon.com/First-Years-Portable-Video-Monitor/dp/B004EI3XEY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366980181&sr=8-1&keywords=the+first+years+video+monitor)
9--Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover (if youre nursing)
10--Some kind of activity mat. I linked ours, but anything similar seems to be a universal baby pleaser (http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Rainforest-Melodies-Lights-Deluxe/dp/B000FFL58Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366980376&sr=8-1&keywords=fisher+price+rainforest+activity+mat)
11--crib bumpers--just kidding. I was wondering if you'd read the whole post ;P
Congratulations!!
Also you mentioned being undecided on crib sheets. For DD1 I got a bedding set by BananaFish and it was nice quality. This time I just got separates from Land of Nod....also really good quality and ton of solid and print options to mix and match. If you havent looked already, Id check it out: http://www.landofnod.com/crib-bedding/kids-gear/
They're so much easier for DS to find them in the crib when they fall out in the middle of the night! We use them for the crib only, which has worked out well. And they are washable -- I've thrown them in with his laundry, and then just dangled the binky part in boiling water to make sure there's no laundry detergent residue on it.
If you're planning to nurse - I love this thing and use it as my primary pump at home. I keep my electric pump at work.

Bottles? We use Dr Browns and like them.
Bamboobies! The are the most discreet pads I've found. I wear them every day.
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=bl_sr_baby-products?_encoding=UTF8&field-brandtextbin=Bamboobies&node=165796011
I didn't see anything like this (but may have missed it) - these were so great in the beginning. Not only for me (especially when I had mastitis), but also when DD was so gassy. I would heat one in the microwave and rest it on her belly to help her release gas. It was very effective.
And this is necessary for us now that DD likes to throw things:

Just wanted to acknowledge your responses-thanks! I've ultimately decided to go with solid grey sheets from Aden and Anais and I'll just have my MIL make me pretty crib bumpers.
Just kidding. But she is going to make a pretty crib skirt so the sheets can be simple.
Another question for people still checking the new post on this thread...
What were the main items you didn't register but people got you anyway? I've heard not to register for cloths and blankets because people just love to pick out what they want to give rather than what has been requested. Have you noticed any other items like that?
