Update

We are home after a very long 24 hours! She seems to be doing very well now and has not had any episodes since 10 pm last night.

Everything came back clear except the eeg had some slow readings that the doctor said is common with seizures caused by an environmental issue. They think she ate something poisonous but not deadly. I am racking my brain trying to think of what she could possibly have gotten into and trying not to feel guilty for not keeping her safe. They told me we will probably never know what it was but that isn't comforting at all because if we don't know what it was how am I supposed to keep it from happening again?

They are notentirely ruling out a seizure disorder and we have a follow up in a week and will be following up with her pediatrician friday. If it happens again we are supposed to rush her to the ER. I am just happy that she is healthy and we are home!

Thanks so much for the T&Ps and your kind words!

Also, Mrads I did ask about strokes and they said they were ruled out by doing the cat scan since they should have shown up there and by how she has bounced back recovery wise. Thanks for the opinion though I appreciate being knowledgable in the questions I can ask the doctor.

I had a seizure in college.  The doctors ran all sorts of tests - I even wore a heart monitor for 3 days but they couldn't find any reason for it.  My cousin has had seizures and has been diagnosed with Epilepsy.  A little girl I babysat for has a couple as a baby but none after she turned 2.

I know its super scary but unfortunately with something like this unless they find something in the initial testing its kinda a wait and see situation.  My doctor told me to avoid strobe lighting (that can trigger them) and don't get dehydrated. Awesome advice for a college kid :-)
