AW!

Well I participated in my department's biggest loser contest this year. I was about 10lbs above my personal "max" weight zone for a while and decided I would do something about it.  Especially since my cholesterol levels had been checked and were creeping up. So I started c25k, weekly yoga classes and calorie tracking (myfitnesspal) 14 weeks ago.  I am proud to say that since then I have dropped 8.7% of my weight and my cholesterol levels are moving in the right direction too. As of last week I was in first place for the department, but since I will be in the magic kingdom next week today was my last weighin (and I am pulling for another lady to be the winner- she is doing an awesome job and deserves it).  I would like to lose another 5ish lbs. But honestly I am just really happy with the changes I have made already.

Things that helped along the way- supportive friends who were making their own diet/fitness changes and who listened to my whining about the annoyances of bloat.  K- who lost like twice as much weight as I have in the same time and wasn't bringing bad temptations in to the house. Having a splurge meal or day along the way (I am looking at you super bowl, girls weekend, easter, and K's birthday brunch).  I really hope that i can maintain these changes long term. I had really derailed there for a while with the eating out lunch way too often and snacking after dinner every night.

Also, I find indulgences are so much more enjoyable when they are a special treat and not an everyday occurrence.
