Re: Fantastic Friday

  • Nothing too exciting happened this week.

DH and I are going to the Pittsburgh Pirates game tonight and tomorrow.  Just the 2 of us are going tonight, but we are going with my sister and her fiance tomorrow.  On Sunday, DH is going to see Iron Man 3 with his friend for his friend's birthday.  (I wanted to go too but wasn't invited, so my parents invited me to go with them on Monday.)

We got some potentially good news about being able to stay in our apartment (we thought we'd have to move out this summer, this my moving countdown in the siggy... which I thought I removed, but now it's not working...)!

A friend is coming over for a girl's night tonight, and then DH & I are meeting at a birthday party tomorrow night (he'll be working all day).

  • My exciting thing from this week is that it was better than last week. Only complaint is spending $460 on two new tires for my car, ugh!

This weekend will be fun. Tomorrow I'm helping host a ladies tea party at our church.  The older ladies in our congregation and neighborhood look forward to this every year. It's also a fun excuse to dress up and wear fancy hats.  Sunday will be tequila in the backyard with some friends celebrating anniversaries.

  • Not a very exciting weekend here...

    DH is working tomorrow.

We have to deep clean our townhouse because my mother is coming next weekend...we're not dirty people, but I swear she can find the smallest speck of dust in the most random corner!

Also trying to mix in a bit of thesis writing.

  •  This week has been pretty awesome! It was my birthday yesterday, so I got to celebrate with my in laws on Wednesday and then with H last night.  We will continue celebrating tomorrow night with some friends.

Exciting work news: the assistant in our room that we don't like use working her last day today. She accepted a different job for the last two and a half weeks of school.

The most exciting thing from this week is that Wednesday H got a call about interviews for two  positions with our state department of transportation!! His interviews are May 13th. We are super excited and hoping for him to get one of the jobs! He also, unexpectedly, got a call today about a job in Atlanta that he'd applied for two months ago. They're going to call next week to set up an interview!  He's not terribly interested in that one, but will interview as a backup. And for experience interviewing! I'm so excited!

apart from being SO BORED all week it's been good.  the unseasonably warm weather meant I could start tackling my gardens.  I also got my hair cut yesterday and I always love having that done.

Tomorrow I'm shooting an engagement session and am band in studio.  I'm hoping Sunday can be a patio furniture shopping day...we are having a BBQ in a few weeks and have nothing for people to sit on!

The highlight of the week was from my students.  Every morning we have announcements and we say the Pledge of Allegiance.  For some reason yesterday and today, they only made announcements, not the Pledge.  Yesterday my students were upset about it.  This morning when it happened again, they all asked if we could say the Pledge on our own.  It was a very proud moment for me!

Tomorrow, we are going to looking at a house for the second time.  In the afternoon, I have a bridal shower.  I also can't wait to watch the Kentucky Derby.  I'm not a horse racing fan, but I love watching the Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes.  It's such an adrenaline rush.

Sunday, we're going to the ILs for Cinco de Mayo.

  • Late to the game today... LONG day, but I got my sleep study machine and blood drawn.  Only took one try on the blood work, which surprised me.  I'm usually stuck a few times.  And bruise... no bruise yet!

Nothing exciting this week.  I did get some new work out clothes at old navy tonight!

Saturday - cleaning then off to "pre" marital counseling with our pastor.  Hope this is the LAST one!

Sunday - grocery shopping, laundry and visiting the parents.
