Another Update

Hey guys! (Saralynn I saw your message but thought I would tell the update here. Thanks for the concern...it is nice to know you are thinking of us)

Her pedi had an appointment available today so we went to see her. MaryBridge sent over all the paperwork ahead of time so she had read up on what happened. She walked in and said "so, do you think she has a seizure disorder?" I liked how she asked for my opinion. She agrees that she doesn't think she ate something toxic because she didn't present her symptoms that way. She also agreed that she was having tonic not petit mal seizures.

She said there are basically two ways this could work out. Either she will never have another seizure again and we can chalk this up to her getting a virus. A virusthat may have made her feel yucky without making her actually sick like hands virus.

Or she will seize again and she has the potential to have a grand mal based onthe tonic seizures. If this is the case there is a very good chance of her growing out of it because of how young she is and because they are presenting "funny". She also has a really good chance of doing well on meds because of the same things.

She acknowledged all my concerns and didn't brush anything off. We will be seeing the neurologist at the end of the month and probably setting up a 24 hour eeg since there is a good chance she has a seizure disorder.

Thanks again for all the T&Ps everyone!

  • I definitely feel less scattered now that I have seen her. I feel like we have a direction to go and clear expectations. I also feel prepared for what could come. I love our pedi <3
