I don't think AmandaJ will be around this week, so I'll kick off the post! How did everyone do this past week? Goals for the upcoming week? concerns?
Marathon runners---I saw many of you on facebook, congratulations!!!
Re: running post!
I completed week 4 last week, and did week 5 days 1&2 over the weekend. However, I feel betrayed by what is ahead of me...up until this point, it's been a nice, gradual increase that I feel has been manageable. but then I looked ahead to the next day (week 5, day 3) and I'm supposed to go 2 miles without stopping?? What? week 5, day 2 was just going 3/4 of a mile...so I'm more than doubling that? Yikes.
So, the plan for this week will be to attempt that 2 mile run tomorrow night (though the weather looks iffy this whole week, blah) and then run on Saturday to get my 3 days in.

I loved the last week's beautiful weather, but between my allergies (the gorgeous weather stirred up a bad pollen reaction for me) and leg problems this past week, I only got outside to run one day, but I did get to the gym on the elliptical a few other days, so it wasn't a total loss. I improved my elliptical 5K time by over two minutes in the past few weeks :-)
I'm hoping today's weather holds up and I can get outside for a run at the park right by my office.
Emmy, yes I've seen week 5 and it scares me too!
Last week was kind of a bust. I only got to run 2 days. I went Monday but because of schedules I cut it a little short. I should have run Tuesday but since I had already run 2 days in a row I felt I should give myself and foot a rest. But then I couldn't go again till Thursday and had to go when it was still pretty warm out. I really felt like I struggled. I think it was too much of a break from running! Even though I struggled it was my fastest pace so far so I was happy about that!
we went out of town over the weekend and my foot was really bothering me. I wanted to run last night when we were back but figured resting would be better.
This week is going to be crappy too. I hate the hectic schedules! I'm hoping to get my 3 runs in during the week since dh will be out of town this weekend and I can't go out running those days. I think I'm going to have to repeat week 3 since I didn't get in my 3 runs last week and it already felt difficult. But we will see how my foot holds up.
I'm not a runner, but my post is exercise related.
I start early morning (think in the 5 o'clock hour) bootcamp tomorrow morning. It's every Tues/Thurs morning in May. I am scared. I'm also going to try to stick with 3 classes per week in the evenings/Saturday in addition to bootcamp. I may die.
I love your ambition! I find it's much easier to rise early in summer. And it feels so good to get it over with (but I am a crazy morning person, for the most part).
Emmy, I didn't do the official couch to 5K program but it's ok to not follow it to a T even if you are doing it. Don't be afraid to repeat week 5 if that's how long it takes - or make up your own week 4.5 as an intermediary.
I did two 3 mile runs last week, and then I had 4.7 miles for the relay on Sunday. I was so nervous, but it was so much fun! The crowd support was amazing. I just hit the 5 mile mark in my runs a few weeks ago, so I kept my goal pretty low. I wanted to finish my leg in under 56mins (12:00 min pace) and ended up finishing it in 54:21 (11:33 min pace), so I was happy! I took more walking breaks than I wanted, but was also able to keep a good pace when I was running.
Emmy, ditto Erin. I've done C25k and am in the midst of C210k and around week 5 or 6 is when I either repeated a week/day, or ran as much as I could, took a quick walk break, and picked back up running again. It is a shock to jump to that long of a run, but you also may be surprised at how much you can go!

Awesome, awesome post, Meghan:)
Awesome time Meghan! Beating your goal time is an amazing accomplishment!
I know you posted before but anyone have the link?
I did get back onthe treadmill last night. I was tired but got DD to bed and thought-- just do it. Even if 10 mins. Well 35 mins later..... it felt good. I went back to ratart again at week 6.
I also ordered the Jillian Michaels Body Revolution dvd set that arrived yesterday. It looks major- ha- but going to try and use with my running.
Here it is, but I am the world's worst blogger!
