Does anyone have any special plans for the weekend?
What are you getting your mother/MIL?
I just ordered a greenhouse gift certificate for my mom; that's pretty much become our annual gift for her because I know she'll use it! I'm still trying to figure out what to get my MIL.
No specific plans, we'll get together with my mom at some point that day.
ETA-daycare is hosting a Mother's Day Luau on Friday, that is what I'm most excited for
it's so cute every year to see all of the kids with their crafts.
Re: let's talk Mother's Day
I have been trying to think today what to get the moms of the family. Normally I do hanging baskets for my mom, MIL and DH's grandma. Then a smaller potted plant for DD godmother. Not sure if I will do the same or what. I don't want to buy too early and have the responsbility of keeping said plants alive!
My mom has to work and no one on DH's side has said anything about doing anything. So we shall see. Maybe just stop in.
They moved Muffins with Mom to Wednesday instead of the usual friday.
A luau sounds so cute!
No moms near us so we don't do anything with them. Not sure yet about what I'll send my mom.
dh is actually out of town this weekend so I'm coming up with my own MD plans with dd. Friday morning is MD breakfast at daycare. I usually don't do drop offs so I usually make a special trip for it but since dh will be gone I have to drop off already so it works out!
I think I'll take dd with me to a local festival. They have kid stuff and yummy food and craft/jewelry vendors. I was going to do it MD but looks like Saturday may be the nicer day. Sunday I want to go out for brunch. So I'm trying to figure out where. Then if the weather isn't great (supposed to be chilly and rainy here) I thought it would be fun to go to a pottery painting place. No studio fee that day for moms and their group.
I wish I would get to sleep in but not without dh around. But without him around I'm free to plan my day for however I want I guess
My birthday is the day before Mother's Day, so we're actually getting a babysitter and going bowling on Saturday. On Sunday, as long as weather cooperates, I want to go for a bike ride and have a picnic.
We're going to my parent's house next weekend...so I have an extra week to come up with something.
I am in charge of getting my mom her present. I have an Orgami Owl necklace I had got her for Christmas with all of our birthstones. But I have to get something else to go with it. Maybe another Pandora charm.
MIL, no clue. I still have last year's card in my buffet.
We did cards for both (from both us and Claire). DH says he got something for me, but I don't know what. As for the actual day, we have a concert to go to that night, so it will be a low key day (which is fine with me - if he'll take potty duty all day that would be a great mother's day - ha!).
I'm actually working MD - but I don't mind since it's really good cash-in-hand $ and DH and I are going out of the town the following weekend, so it will be extra $ for that.
Hopefully we'll order takeout on Saturday night - we'll see!
Monday is Muffins with Mom at school from 7:30-8:15, so I'll go to that with Gavin. (Caron - love that your school calls it that too!)
For my Mom, I bought her a necklace from Wendall August, so she'll get that from me and DH once it comes in and I can get it back out in the mail. The boys bought her one of those huge $10 Hallmark cards that looks like a pot of flowers - should be interesting to see how much it costs to send.
Godmothers are all getting cardsfrom the boys.
MIL is passed, so nothing there.
My three sons!
My mom loves her trashy magazines, so I got her a year's subscription to OK magazine
MIL is coming in on Thursday to spend the weekend with us before she goes for her summer in Italy with Steve's sister, and we're going to spend time with her and take her to the lake (crossing my fingers for no rain). We still have no present ideas for her.
My gift is going to see The Great Gatsby Saturday night. As I named my cat Gatsby, it's no shock I love the book. I'm also a huge fan of Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge is my all time favorite movie) so I have high hopes for this.
I was told my gift wasn't something that I "needed" but it's MD so nothing practical allowed. Goodness only knows what that could be!
We got my mom new pictures of the boys for their frame in the living room and my sister and I are going to take her to afternoon tea at the Omni William Penn in June. I think we're heading to my parents' for dinner on MD. Other than that it's a low key weekend!
Me too! I forgot to mail it and then she came for a visit like a week later and I forgot to give it to her, lol. Maybe I'll just send it this year!
I think we may go to a dinner buffet at a local restaurant with my parents.
Casey's birthday falls on MD this year and I have no idea what to get him - and he's giving me no help.
I'll probably get my mom a GC for flowers or buy her some plants - not sure yet.
