For those interested!
We sent off to leave for the hospital around 7am. Leaving big brother with my parents. He cried when we left and I felt so heartbroken. We made it to the hospital and checked in. The back up midwife who was on call for my midwife who was on vacation was MIA. The nurses called her and I was asked if I wanted the induction to start with on call midwife. I declined as I wanted to finalize the induction plan wether foley bulb or pitocin.
Midwife arrives about hour and half to two hours late. Checks me and says I am closed up, baby high and a bad candidate but she will try. I'm pretty annoyed at this point as she was being a Debbie downer. She cannot do foley bulb so we go straight to Pit. I'm hooked up to monitors and Pit. So basically I can stay within ten feet of the bed.
I start using birth ball & sitting in rocking chair encouraging gravity to drop baby. Read a book and played on iPhone. Contractions were easy and about ten minutes apart. I was checked three hours later at 2cm. Midwife and nurse had mix up so they never turned up my pit. Pit was suppose to be turned up every half of hour by two so now that plan was in place. I had my husband get me a sandwich... Nurse catches me... I get in trouble for it. I go on to sneak banana and cereal bar later, I need my strength!
My doula decided to head in just to help our even if I wasn't in pain or cervix super dilated. When I was checked again I was a 3 and clearly not dilating "fast enough" for the midwife. She was being very sour. Doula and all of us were tired of her sour attitude. She came in hour later around 7 and said she was thinking since I'm taking a long time she'd go home rest and on call midwives would take care of induction and checks. All of us were glad. Also in my favor, a nurse change and she was very positive about me getting to vbac.
At some point before ten I was checked at 4. I decided it was best to lay down. I was able to rest for about an hour or so? No real idea. Contractions began being something I needed to focus on. So my doula encouraged me to get up and labor somewhere else. I got on birth ball again. Two hours later my water broke. Yeah! something happened. So my on call positive midwife goes to get me checked I'm at a five baby dropped a little but not in full place. I ask for epi since I want sleep so I can push eventually. My doula hopes I can go from 5-10 while asleep and wake up and push.
I go to use the bathroom before the epi comes and all of sudden my body is shaking and contractions are insane. I am losing myself. Finally epi guy arrives (pretty quickly)I have to sit on edge of bed with my feet dangling and I am losing it. My doula holds my feet and between her and Pat they are trying to keep me together. Around 5 contractions happen. Finally epi is placed and I lay down and say I feel like I have to push?!?
Nurse comes in to check me as midwife is in another delivery. And says oh hey baby is right there! Room explodes with people getting ready for me to have a baby. The epi kicks in enough to kill a bit of edge. But that's about it.
I begin pushing, which takes me and hour and half... Hgtv is still on from earlier... Towards the end I feel pukey and basically dry heave the baby out. Holy ***! Baby is tossed on my chest. I am shakey as hell, they ask Pat to announce sex but he is so overwhelmed he can't focus. Finally he announces Girl! Our little Juniper came into our lives at 2:35am, weighing in at 7.15ounces and 21 inches long.
They sewed me up as I had a third degree tear so that epi took the edge off of that. Plus every birth endorphin known to man.

Congratulations! She is just perfect.
Sorry you had to to deal with the midwife drama. Sounds like everything else was ok, all things considered.
Hope your family of 4 is settling in nicely this week.
i think he really likes her? Only issue is i still nurse him too. There is a bit of jealousy with that. But manageable!

ill be honest I never thought I would have to physically nurse both at the same time. But if it is m's regular nursing time I do it. Or if I need to be drained a bit if pressure. It's probably one of the most amazing things to me. The first day we came home he hasn't napped and went meltdown when he saw me start to feed her so I let him and her nurse at same time my husband held j and I let m lay in boppy. And he held her hand while I nursed them. So. Yeah. I will always cherish that moment.
