Confessions...

I need a distraction on this rainy dreary day.

I'm trying to think of one... in the meanwhile what is yours?

Re: Confessions...

  • Im bothered by babies who are naked save for a diaper. And I mean, when parents let them hang out, play, eat, etc with no clothes on. I know theres really nothing wrong with it, but it bothers me and makes me cold by proxy.

  • Thought of one.

I am taking the week of memorial day off... I still plan on dropping DS off at daycare for at least half a day and plan on planting my butt in front of the TV and watching my DV-R'ed shows for at least one day.  If you told me I was thinking about this 8 months ago when I had to come back to work I would have told you that you were insane... but I really need some me time and DS loves daycare so that doesn't make me a horrible mom right? I also plan on working on a lot of crafty projects for his birthday party the next week.... in front of the TV.

Also, I do not plan on telling DH my plans because he will give me a list of things to do.  So I am telling him that I am booked most of the week haha  maybe that does make me a horrible wife but I'm willing to accept that one!!!

HA! I thought of you right away. Your kids are never wearing cloths and I find it hysterical.

Im alright with nudity as a result of strong willed toddlers/children. Im not alright with adults making the choice to not dress their babies.

The situation of taking off work but taking the kids to daycare is always a tough one for me. I feel terribly guilty and like a terrible parent when I do it, but if I dont send them, I seriously get nothing done or no relaxation. I actually sent DD1 to daycare a few days a week when I was on maternity leave with DD2 ;/

A friend of ours is a daycare teacher and lambasted us when we admitted that we have done this on occasion. Then about a month later her son entered the super clingy, trying to walk but cant, climbing up your leg and never leaving you alone stage, and I overheard her telling someone that she sent him to daycare while she stayed home so she could prep for his 1st birthday party! FOR SHAME!! I guess she finally understood where we were coming from, after she judged us for it.

So I say, rock on. Take a break. Dont feel bad.

  • I confess that I am so flipping bored at work.  They hired me to work in tandem with another woman here who has been swamped since late last year.  The week after I started, all work coming in just stopped.  Dead.  Silence.  So I'm not doing anything and too new to find stuff to do.  It's driving me crazy.

Also, my kid eats shirtless every night.  Since he hasn't quite mastered utensils yet, I figure it's better for my laundry to just let him eat without a shirt.  He doesn't seem to mind :)

  • Oh and as far as a parent day off?  DH and I totally did this the Friday before I started my new job.  He had off (it was Good Friday) so we sent the kiddo to daycare and had a day date.  We went shopping and to lunch.  We picked up the kiddo early and went to a park and all hung out together later.  It was an awesome day from start to finish.
  • I feel like I was more prepared to have a kid right out of college than I am now because now I know exactly how hard it's going to be and I've spent the last 6 years learning how fun it is to not be tied to a little dictator. I'm terrified my kid isn't going to like me or that I might not like him and, as a result, I'm going to be a horrible mother. I'm also worried about how my relationship with my husband is going to change because of this new little person. But these are all totally normal feelings to be having before this major, life changing event....right?!

I love J but you better believe that when #2 arrives, I'll be sending him to daycare every day, at least in the beginning.

My confession is that I'm hoping #2 is a boy. I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if it was a girl, but I want another little J running around.  Also, then it will make it easier to convince Mr.D to go #3 so we can try for a girl.

  • NQ I agree with Jen. Completely normal. It's a life altering event!

Jen will you be team green or finding out?

  • We'll still be team green.  I like the nice surprise at the end.

For the record and so that Child Services is not called on me, I do not post completely nude pics of the crazies but you should know that if it is a waist up only pic well....

  • NQ -- totally normal.

I have off on Friday to prep for D's birthday party the next day, and he will be going to daycare. I'm sure he'll go in a little later and get picked up a little earlier, but I just have too much to do.

  • So one of the mom's this morning at T2's school commented on my weight loss, asked how I did it, how much I lost and how long it took me (about ten months) blah blah blah... after I  explained about counting calories, the app I use, running, etc she then proceeded with how I am wasting my time with all that healthy eating and exercising, all she just did was a cleanse to lose 8 lbs last week and she plans to keep doing it to hit her goal weight. Indifferent I so badly wanted to go off on a tangent but decided to just nod politely, walk away and enjoy the rest of the time with T2. some people are just not worth your energy...

And this is not a confession more like a PSA, go out and buy Blue Diamond wasabi soy almonds, they are amazing and I am completely addicted, I need my fix every day.

Me too... although I totally rocked it in college... it was called the "too poor to afford to have my roots done" look though.

I am not a fan of the randomly painted ring finger thing that is going on now either. I find it distracting.

There's no way you can kick@ss at a 10 mile race (like YOU did this weekend) while starving yourself.  Oops, I meant "cleansing."  But you know this!  Yes
