Hi girls. I thought I'd pop on with an update:
Andrew - he is doing great. He now weighs 8lbs+ and is a little chubster. He went to the cardiologist yesterday and she sees no need for him to have a repair on his heart and that its something we can just keep watching. She doesn't want to see him for 6 months! If that appt goes well he'll move to yearly checkups. holla!
Colin - god, my sweet little boy. His pulmonary arteries are small, which we knew. They did a catheter procedure to see if they'd put stents in but decided to wait and see how much they'd grow on their own. In the meantime, bc they're so small, it built up pressure and unfortunately tore a suture in his patch. This means he needs open heart surgery AGAIN to go in and fix the suture. It won't be as involved but the fact that they have to open him back up pains me. They are waiting till he hits the 6 week mark of his first surgery (assuming it doesn't get any worse in the meantime) before they go back in so that they can suture to scar tissue so this doesnt happen again. The upside is he can come home while we wait and he's being discharged TODAY! I feel a little bit better about the situation now but man the day they told us they'd have to go back in was ROUGH. For now we're just focusing on the present and that tonight all 4 of us will be back in our house ![]()
so thats that. Hope you are all doing well.

Great news about Andrew!
It's really a bummer about Colin and the repair but hopefully this will be the last time they have to go in.
And I'm so glad to hear that you all get to go home tonight!

Aww, so sorry to hear that Colin has to have another surgery. But you've clearly got two strong little boys there, so I'm sure soon enough he'll be just as healthy as Andrew!
Glad you're all going to be home together tonight
Yay for Andrew and Yay for more time off of work!
I'm sorry Colin will need another surgery. Keep up the amazing job and have fun with both of them home. I'll keep praying for you guys.
I am so glad that the four of you will be home together tonight!!!! and so sad that he has to go back in :-(

Enjoy your time together at home as a family! Here's to positive thoughts for Colin, and all of you. And, nice work Andrew.....keep growing stronger and encourage your best friend to do the same!
I hope your job continues to help you with time off. Under the law, you are entitled to 12 weeks of protected time off under FMLA (if your employer has 50 or more people). I hope they work with you, and aren't a$$es!
thanks. My job is pretty awesome and super understanding. They give the 12 weeks FMLA and then they give another 4 weeks. On top of that I'm taking 2 weeks vacation and they approved me for another 4 weeks of personal time due to the circumstances and said to let them know if I need more. I am super lucky in that regard. I should have gone back July 17 and now I'm going back September 3.

I admire you more than you know! You're keeping me strong right now, so keep on rocking it out as an amazing momma. xoxo
Glad to hear everyone is going home!
Stay strong, you are doing awesome! I will continue to keep you guys in my prayers!
I'm so sorry they have to operate again. Please let me know if you need anything or want to vent! I can even come meet you for lunch at CHOP some day when you're there.
And...great news about your work being so understanding!!
