Am I the only reality tv-hating scifi nerdy wife around here? :P
Allrightey, crew, I have to ask...because I know it can't be...any other nerdy scifi girls around here?
(Sorry, I can't stand most of the current crop of tv, aside from Doctor Who, MLP--please don't judge me!--and Phineas and Ferb. My shelves are lined with SG1 box sets, the complete series of Farscape, and lots of Star Wars Bantam Spectra-era novels.)
Till we talk again, live long and prosper, may the Force be with you, namarie, have a frelling awesome night and have a frakking FANTASTIC week...
Re: Am I the only reality tv-hating scifi nerdy wife around here? :P
I'm a huge nerd. But I don't like sci fi.
I love reality tv and watch Big Brother, Celebrity Apprentice, Real Housewives of Orange County, and Hell's Kitchen.
I get pretty nerdy about TV. Almost all TV, except most reality shows (no offense to anyone who watches them).
This is especially true where the following are concerned: Supernatural, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story (and shows that are no longer on, like Heroes, Lost and Fringe).
I also enjoy (putting it lightly) comedies including Modern Family, Raising Hope, New Girl, Suburgatory and Go On (and shows that are no longer on such as Friends and Arrested Development - COME ON MAY!)
In recent past, I have obsessed over modern classics like Friday Night Lights and CSI (Las Vegas ONLY), as well as *ahem* Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, One Tree Hill and Roseanne.
And those aren't even my guilty pleasures. Yes, I still watch Grey's Anatomy and Glee.
For two seasons years ago I was obsessed with American Idol (Kris Allen was my last idol, and I voted for him at least 300,000 times), and watched way too much Rachael Ray, Good Eats with Alton Brown and Iron Chef America (not to mention tons of others on the Food Network). Before I bought this house in 2009 I was an HGTV junkie.
Right now, I'm casually watching Being Human, getting more and more into Breaking Bad, and nursing a springtime crush on Storm Chasers on Netflix. Next up: Doctor Who and Sherlock. Based on my all time faves, they should be right up my alley.
Sorry, TV makes me talkative.
I am a total nerd when it comes to TV. Doctor Who, Sherlock, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Grimm, and of course, Buffy. I hate reality TV, unless it is Project Runway. I am a total sucker for that show, even thought every season I swear I am breaking up with it.
I did not have a TV when my husband & I were dating, and I read loads of history and literature, so he had no clue I was a complete sci-fi/fantasy dork (he just thought I was a run of the mill nerd). He still can't believe it and we have been together for 14 years.
