Any ideas for a mothers day project that I can make with the kids to give to their grandparents?

For an art project (on her own, LOL) my daughter made me hand painted terra cotta flower pots. I used them outdoors last year for annuals and brought my herbs indoors this past winter planted in them. They weren't fancy, one had words, one had flowers, another an angel. But I can reuse them and they are useful.
At a bridal shower I attended there were centerpieces with white hanging baskets decorated with the handprints of the children of one of the bridesmaids. They must have used craft paint. That's another idea.
