Maternity Photos
I go back and forth with wanting to get maternity photos taken...So.... a couple questions for moms to be and already moms....
Did you or are you going to get maternity photos done?
Were you happy you got them done or more like...meh?
What do you do with them after you have them?
Did you go professional or more so, "Hey friend...take some pics of us."?
What point in your pregnancy did you or are you planning on getting them done?
PIP any of yours so that I can see how awesome they are and it will push me into getting them done...

I think this is why I struggle with it. I feel the same way.
I have a friend who says that I HAVE to do them. My child will love seeing them someday.
And I feel like, My mom doesn't have any and I am ok with that. I just hate the pressure I get sometimes from mom's I know....Makes me feel like I am not doing the right thing sometimes. I just try to keep the frame of mind that I am doing what's right for our family.

I was kind of on the fence about doing it, but DH really really wanted to. We didn't get engagement photos and regret it, and we don't really like our wedding photos, so he really wanted some professional photos of just us. He also really wanted to celebrate the fact that after all of our losses, we are this far along, and what a miracle that is.
We got them done at 34 weeks. They turned out AMAZING; even better than we were hoping they would. I'm planning on framing a few to hang up, and then getting an album printed with all of them. And I agree that LO will probably love looking at them in the future; my parents actually had a friend take a bunch of pictures of them when my mom was really pregnant (I don't even think maternity pictures were a thing back then, so I don't know how they came up with the idea) and I loved to look at them when I was a kid. My mom just looks so happy in them that it made me feel really special and wanted.

I wanted them and my SIL wanted to do them. Well she kept putting them off and off and then I got put on bed rest at 32 weeks and by the time I was off bed rest and she was ready to do them I was at the feeling huge and yucky phase. I am glad we took weekly photos though because I have a belly book I will be putting them in and I filled out while pregnant. We do have a professional picture of the two of us when I was 23 weeks at my work Christmas party.
I plan on doing a family maternity shoot next time around. I see it as being another way to include Ava Nichol in the excitement of a new baby since she absolutely loves getting her pictures done!

i hate mat photos. i did not want them done. extra hate for bare belly and finger heart mat photos.
that said, a friend begged to take some. she's not professional, but has a nice camera. i was hesitant but by the time it rolled around i was glad to have a few pictures of myself pregnant because all i had otherwise were the weekly bump photos. it was done somewhere around 28w. i think they usually suggest doing it around 30-32, but we had to do it while we were in town.
there's no editing or photoshopping on what she did for us. there are a few fav's though. she printed some out to put up at my shower.
