Great news for DH and I

Yesterday DH went on a teaching interview at a school about an hour away from us. He met two of the principals from that district a few weeks ago when he went to a job fair. They really liked him and told him they would be recommending him for an interview with the principal. Yesterday afternoon he had the interview and on the spot, the principal OFFERED HIM THE JOB! He will be teaching social studies and lanugage arts to 6th graders! This is a full time job with benefits. They are also going to start him out on step 3 on the pay scale because of his prior experience!

I am over the moon excited and sooooo happy for him. A huge weight has been lifted off of our shoulders because come September we'll be able to pay our bills and get back on track.

The only thing I wish is that the job was closer. 1 hour away will be rough, but it's near where his parents live so he'll probably stay there 1 or 2 nights a week. I'll miss him, but it will be worth it.

That is AMAZING NEWS! I am so happy for the two of you that everything is finally falling into place. An hour is rough, but at the same time it is a job. Is there any chance of you being able to move closer?

Congrats to your DH on getting the job!!! I know he has been working hard for this and for very long. An hour away is not bad. DH and I have been doing the drive all year. His dad has been doing it for over 20 years. For us we'd rather be closer to family than work. Maybe you could move there and be close to both. That'd be great. I couldn't imangine DH spending nights away from me, especially once the baby comes.

I know many of us living in more urban areas are spoiled, but an hour really is nothing in terms of a work commute. When we lived in Ohio we were out in the country and my dad had an hour commute to get back and forth to work.

yeahhhhhhhh!!!! I am SO excited for you guys! An hour drive stinks sometimes (I do it for work already.) BUT it's so worth it to have a job (or in my case my promotion). I hope you guys will adjust well and will be able to find something that works for you!

Mostly, I am super super pumped and excited! CONGRATS TO YOUR DH! = )

Thanks so much everyone! We are both super excited. There is a chance we could live half way but we will probably wait until his second year to do that. That area would be half way between my parents and his, and it's pretty nice around there. That would be ideal. We'd want to make sure that he gets a second year contract before making a move like that. Also we need to see where I get hired.
