CD Mommas

Question about fleece liners - you can use these to protect your diapers from non-CD safe diaper cream, yes?  OK, so then when you go to wash them after they've been soiled, can you wash them with your inserts or should they be washed separately?  Will the non-CD safe cream ruin the fleece liners after a time?

 TIA!

Re: CD Mommas

  • It would be safer to wash them separately. That said, I've washed them with the rest of my inserts without a problem. I'm not sure if they'd be ruined after a long time, we've only had to use non-cd safe cream a couple of times.

  • If we have to use a non CD safe cream, I switch to sposies until we're done. We use thin (width wise) fleece only at night when we put vaseline on his circ (DH thought he saw some skin try to attach, so we just do it once a day still). I wash them separately from his diapers unless it's particularly gross, then I'll wash it with the diapers.

  • We had to do diaper cream a couple of weekends ago and I just used sposies. I don't have any that's cd safe though. I would wash seperately though if you keep using CDs.

Congrats to my GP Sister from another mister Bruinsbabe!!
  • we haven't needed to use diaper rash cream since he was 2 weeks old and in sposies. i have some cd safe cream that my sister made, but i'd say it's really just more of a moisture barrier (coconut oil, lavender essentials, shea butter). he gets a little red in the bum crack but the pedi said it's really just from moisture and heat and that letting him air out will fix it (and it does, and he loves naked time, so it's a win win). i have fleece liners that i haven't even prepped so they've never been used.
Thanks to our wonderful RE our family is complete!

  • This is awesome, thanks ladies!  I'm going to return the fleece liners I thought I needed.

out of curiosity, what kind did you get? If you might have a boy and will circ, you will need them for a barrier for the vaseline, but that might be a moot point as I think you are anti-circ. But something to consider if you are not.

  • I usually just use a disposable liner if I use non CD safe cream. I don't want to to have to deal with washing potentially poopy liners separate from the diapers. If he needs a lot of diaper cream then I just use a disposable. It's nice to have some disposables on hand just in case you don't get diapers washed fast enough. I also keep a few in my diaper back as emergency back ups so I don't have to carry a ton of CDs around with me. Sorry I got off on a tangent.
