My husband and I are looking to buy a house within the next year or so, and we have both gotten free copies of our credit reports, just to make sure they are accurate, but we didn't pay the extra to get our actual scores. We both have pretty clean reports (no collection accounts or derogatory marks), but I don't know if we actually have "good credit". A friend said that she registered at CreditKarma.com and they gave her a free credit score and she didn't have to give them a credit card number. I'm just a little nervous about that. Should I just pay each credit bureau for our scores from them?
Re: Credit Score
I was given complete print outs of all of my credit reports when I went to get pre-approved for a mortgage. If you're seriously planning on buying a house, just wait till you go to get pre-approved and ask them for copies of the reports.

Keep in mind that while CreditKarma will give you a score, it most likely will not be the same score the bank uses. When I got my original loan, they used a FICO score which isn't the same number that CreditKarma is giving you.
