I needed to share.
Last night, I came home to a sick kiddo. MIL said she tried to give Benadryl but it was a no go so she bathed him and relaxed with a DVD. So after she left, I asked him to try and take some medicine. Went to the cabinet and he grabbed it before I could. I chased him and grabbed the bottle out of is hand. Apparently, the cap was not screwed on, so it went flying everywhere and all in the kiddo's hair. So what should have been bedtime turned into bath number 2, followed by a floor mopping.
After bedtime eventually came about, I settled in to catch up on some Grey's Anatomy. H came home and we were talking. I guess I had a breakdown and wound up crying about how I don't really want to take the new job but I know I have to and it's all just upsetting. Then we got on the topic of his back. Honestly, I really wanted a few minutes just to complain and not compare difficulties and I guess I just got really frustrated. Having to be up at 5am wasn't helping.
We had a guest band today, so I had to work extra early, be there by 7. As I was leaving, the kiddo woke up and begged me to play trains, making it nearly impossible to go in. On the tollway, my tire exploded. Literally. After I got the spare on, my boss called and informed me another guy blew two tires and I needed to do his job til he was able to come in.
Everything was running behind and the morning was awful. Dude who has my old job got his azz handed to him.
Then my SIL texted me. APPARENTLY, mil told the boys she didn't want cards from them, just the grand kids. So she bought HERSELF a card, "from" the grand kids and made them sign it (they are 2, 3, and 4). She also had a list of tasks around her house she wanted done by H and BIL. Neveryoumind that H has a very serious back condition. So they were there all day from like 11 to almost 5. SIL had wanted to go to some antique stores but there was no time left. I felt so bad for her and it almost made me glad to be at work.
Anyhow, just wanted to share my crappy day. The good news is that I filled out the technical application and I'm closer to being hired on staff. I'm excited but I'm skeptical about my salary requirements being approved.
also, what is the difference between a Belgian waffle and a Belgium waffle? Inquiring minds want to know.
Re: Y'all.
No idea what the difference in those waffles are - is one sweeter than the other?
Sorry to hear about your crappy day. At least you weren't around for your MIL's antics? Fingers crossed you have a smooth transition to your new job and end up loving it!
Hope today goes better for you and the kiddo feels better quickly!
Aw, sorry about the crappy day! And the sick little guy! I also hope you can ease into your new job and love it!
I don't know the difference. Actually, I don't think I've heard of belgium waffles.. or I just always assume they are belgian. I can't really find anything googling either.

Lol, we were looking up breakfast places last night. That's what we are doing today since I didn't get to celebrate Mother's Day. Breakfast and pie, yummo.
Anyhow, most menus spelled it Belgian and I came across one that called it Belgium waffles. So we got into some discussion about which it really is and which is actually the proper way to say it, and this all happened when I was writing my post. Also, I'd had about 3 glasses of wine so it was extremely important at the time.
Wow, that sucks. I'm sorry you had a crappy day. But at least the guy who has your old job got in trouble, not you!
as for the waffles - Belgium is a country, things from Belgium are Belgian. So the difference would be proper grammar. Did this menu also include France toast?
Oh geez that is a crap day. Fingers crossed all goes well with your work.
I did not realize the gramer thing with waffles. Learn something new everyday.
I'm sorry your MD wasn't amazing. Hope breakfast was really nice.
Your MIL stories are outrageous. She is something else.
