Ended up in labor and delivery on Saturday
Had a little spotting and was feeling the baby really low. I didn't feel like I was in labor but I've heard it can be totally different than the first, so we called the doc and were advised to go in for monitoring. Got all hooked up, and discovered that none of my pre-registration info was in the system, nor did any of the staff know how to handle our situation. Health wise I'm fine, I have a friable or delicate cervix, which doesn't have anything to do with the baby and is external. So my cervix and the baby are right where they need to be.
Having a trial run with the hospital ended up being a really good thing. 45 minutes to check me in, would have been awful if I was in active labor. It also allowed the staff to work through any questions or logistics. I was told they had dealt with surrogates before, but I'm guessing that the situations must have been different, since they were a little lost.
Emjoying a few days on bed rest, back to real life tomorrow.

While I'm so glad you and the baby are ok and sorry you ended up in L&D, I'm glad that you had a "dress rehearsal" of sorts. I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.
I'm not sure if I missed this but out of curiosity, did you know the dads before this or were you set up with them somehow?
