Anyone?
Not much going on here. I just wanted to start the thread with one of my favorite quotes
Hope everyone has a great day!
Re: They were cones!!
hehe. I don't know the quote. Its much easier when you put up the quote :P
Hi e! I liked your dress you posted yesterday, super cute! Oh and your comment about not being able to pull of the hair do made me giggle- because that is SO ME!. I can straighten my hair.... and that is about it!
How is your running coming? I planned on getting up this morning to run. It didn't happen.
Not much exciting going on here. Just headed to work. Yesterday was slow until the boss man said "it looks like you will have time to work on some protocols for the website" then WOOSH came all the emergencies yesterday afternoon. Good thing I would rather be busy than working on protocols.
They could have been guests at Julia's wedding!
I tried hard to pretend this board was gone forever, but I found it this morning.
I've been in a foul foul mood for several weeks now and yesterday was especially bad. I shot my mouth off on the boards and now think I should take a break.
I did buy a cute dress yesterday that is slightly too small for me. I'm going to try and add a corset back to it tonight. If it goes well, I'll post pictures!
Joy -
good job on guessing the movie quote! I don't know why but I absolutely crack up at that movie scene. I'm sorry you got in an internet fight, did you tell someone you didn't like their horrid baby name?
I'm sorry you've been in a bad mood funk, let us know if there's anything we can do
awkward internet hug.
Aggie - The running is going well. I'm supposed to run again tonight but I'm going to dinner with one of my college roommates who's back in town. Maybe I'll run after dinner. I overdid it on Monday and felt extremely nausous so I'm hoping not to repeat that. But I've kept up with it so far which is amazing considering I haven't ever really done an exercise regimine. And I don't hate it nearly as much as I thought I would.
my read shelf:
Who'd you yell at, Joy? You can take a break, but don't take a break from us!
No idea where that quote came from, E. Even Joy's reply didn't help. Hmmmm...
Not much going on here. I didn't sleep well last night. Between H's snoring and Molly sleeping on me, I kept waking up.

Heh. I try very hard to say my feelings about things but remain respectful to other people, listen to what they say, and I will admit when I'm wrong. It's just easier on the boards.
Yesterday, I didn't give two hoots. After reading entirely too many posts containing a lot of stupid (I'm pregnant - what else is safe to drink besides water?) I may have just cracked.
A woman couldn't afford her $500 extra insurance premium to add maternity coverage to her plan. Fair enough - that's a lot of money. But, why couldn't she pay? She had a big mortgage payment. She also lamented that a lot of people had a lot of money to burn but she didn't because she had a mortgage and student loans. She wished the government would take that into account when deciding who got medicaid.
Soo... you want the tax payers to pay for your maternity coverage because you bought a big house? Just effing NO. I called her irresponsible and said that most people "don't have a lot of money to burn, they are just more responsible with their finances." The other posters called me an idiot and a twit. I said that maybe she needed to hear that her head was screwed on incorrectly and I'm sorry if that made me an condescending, idiotic twit but no one else was saying what needed to be said.
And yeah... I got too riled up. It happens.
I don't know the quote.
Boo.
You guys. I slept in until 10:00 this morning. I feel bad. It wasn't a good sleep. I kept waking up and then falling back asleep. I think it would have been better if I'd just gotten up, but I just didn't want to get out of bed.
I also have no hair skills and can only straighten my hair or put mouse in it and scrunch it, which I do most often these days.
Joy - I'd say the person had it coming to them. Don't take a break from us! We'd miss you.
I want to use all the fun emoticons too, but I can't because I use Chrome and they don't work on Chrome. waaah.
my read shelf:
aw, thanks. It's totally okay if you don't agree with me, by the way! I almost prefaced my post here by saying that some of you may not like my stance. I totally understand there's a lot of views on the subject and most of them are valid - that's what makes it so hard.
If she had just taken one shred of responsibility like saying "We bought a house and incurred a lot of student loan debt. This isn't the best time for a baby, but we're totally going to make it work and the make the necessary sacrifices," I would've given a far more different and sympathetic response.
Anyway. I also got angry on the Thunderdome over something really silly (people thought I was defending some icky parents and I totally wasn't - just having a conversation about alternatives).
We're going to Buffalo this weekend for a wedding (hopefully with my pretty new dress) so maybe some time away from house/job/life will be good for me.
I do lub you guys :-)
Hey kris! (or anyone who doesn't know the quote)

It will answer all your questions.
EDIT: EEEE - this scene cracks me up, as well. In college, we often quoted "They were cones!" at random times. I also love how they look at the stopwatch and are disappointed. Too funny.
Ohhhhhhhh...ok. H would have gotten that. He's good with movie quotes. I'm good with quotes if I've seen the movie a million times.
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="D
Yes, to all of this! DH and I will randomly say it to each other as well. I seriously love everything about this scene.
my read shelf:
I'll miss you, kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you, feed you
Even let you hold the remote control
I dusted and ran the sweeper in all the rooms and now all that's left is to do the dishes. Obviously I had to take a break. haha! That's how I clean. I say to myself "I'll dust&sweep then take a break". Then I'll do something else and take another break. Eventually it all gets done. lol
my read shelf:
This one I know. This scene makes me cry.
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="D
we used this as our wedding party dance. It was hilarious.
