Sea Shells

Hi Ladies-

So I have sea shells from when my H & I went on our honeymoon. Right now they are in a bag not seen & forgotten. Do you have any cool ideas how I can show them off. I already put some in a 2 piece candle holder bottom part has sand & some shells in it, but I have more shells & I do not know what to do with them any ideas??

Re: Sea Shells

  • When we lived near the beach, we would collect shells all the time on special occasions. We put them in jars and just labeled them with what beach we got them from and the occasion/ date. We displayed the jars all together on a shelf.

You could put them in a clear Christmas ornament ball... as long as you don't mind them only being out during X-mas time.

we do the same thing!  I have sand and shells from Aruba and the Bahamas in jars on a shelf in our living room.

  • Wow.. this is my exact same problem! I'm glad you asked this :)

I like the idea of little jars.. I need to find a cute one, and go on more vacations to the beach and find seashells to have a little collection!

  • I collect shells and rocks when we go to the beach or camping, and keep a lot of them in a clear glass vase on the fireplace mantle. I also keep some in another vase on my dresser. Even though we don't live all that close to a beach, my house has a beachy feel to it, so I have sea shells pretty much everywhere. You could also get a shadow box and put them in. Another idea is get a frame for multiple pictures with a nice matte. Glue the shells into each section (depending on size, one for each maybe). Now you have a nice piece of art. You could also replace the backing paper with a pretty colored paper, or maybe a subtle striped paper would be nice. If you have a number of pretty shells to display, you could do multiple frames.
