"I'm pond scum. Well, lower actually. I'm like the - the fungus that feeds on pond scum."
Funny story I quote this all the time, but just re-figured out what movie it came from today
)
Happy Anniversary most everybody! Happy 2 years and many more to come
Re: "I'm pond scum. Well, lower actually. I'm like the - the fungus that feeds on pond scum."
Happy anniversary!! I can't believe it's been two years and two babies for us!! Crazy life!!
i have no idea the movie... But I like this game
Happy Anniversary, ladies!!! I can't believe it's been two years already! I seriously forget sometimes. Obviously so do other people - I changed my FB profile picture to a wedding one, and one of my good friends mom commented "Has it been a year already?!". hahahah!!!
I know that quote, but I can't place the movie. And it's going to bother me until I do.
DH thinks he found the truck for him yesterday. He wants me to go out and look at it today. I really don't want to.
So I had this good friend in college. She got married the summer before we did, and after she graduated they moved to Ohio because she got into Case Western. Well I don't really talk to her all that often, but I try to talk to her at least once a month. We usually have a facebook chat about life and how things are going. It's been a while since we've talked, and her husband messaged me on facebook. Apparently she left him! Like a month ago. I'm seriously stunned. This two have been together for like 8 years. He gave up everything and moved with her so she could follow her dream of going to grade school at Chase and she just left him. She won't talk to him or anything. Seriously nuts!
I know that kind of stuff happens all the time, but this is the first time it's happened to friends of mine. Friends who are my age. Just kind of blew me away.

Oh man - I know that quote but can't place the movie!! It will come to me!
Happy Anniversary, May 21sters!
jlq - I went to a wedding about a year after I graduated college where the groom was 21 and the bride was 19. They married at the Naval Academy the weekend of his graduation and she moved across the country to San Diego with him. Big move, big deal, new lives. A year later, she had moved back across the country and they divorced. It was so strange when I heard the news. We had divorced friends at 22. I know it happens all the time, but it's strange when it's finally right next to you.
The utter irony of that wedding is not lost on me: Jay was the best man and I was originally not invited (serious couples only, as per the rules of the mother of the bride).
Also? Jay and I broke up in the middle of that reception. For two years. It was a horrid weekend. That doesn't negate the irony because he and I are - obviously - married now.
Great movie and quite appropriate for today because of all the anniversaries
And yay for me finally knowing one!! Woohoo!
Happy Anniversary to all the May 21sters! It's awesome to see all the facebook updates from us today. I love all the love
jlq - I don't blame you for not wanting to go see a truck. DH drove me absolutely bonkers when he was car shopping last year. I eventually told him I could not participate and he was only allowed to bring me when he had already test driven something and he was almost final with his decision. Good luck to you!
I don't have any friends that have gotten divorced yet but that's probably because DH and I are the only ones of our friends who are married, well except for the couple who got married this weekend that is. I'm sure it'll be really weird when it does happen though.
Not much going on for me today. I have today off again and I was planning on staying inside reading all day because it was supposed to
all day. But it's bright and sunny out now so I may go outside and sun myself. I suppose I should make dinner for DH or something, we'll see. Maybe I'll get my butt to the store to buy some groceries for dinner.
my read shelf:
Oh also, DH's parents called us last night to wish us a Happy Anniversary. DH explained that our anniversary was actually tomorrow (today) and MIL started arguing with him that he was wrong! Her logic: because it was two years ago and every year you add a day to the week so it's been two years so it was now on a Monday vs Saturday. He kindly explained that we had a leap year last year and therefore it was now 3 days later. It took her awhile before she relented and told him he was right...
Also, did you know facebook reminds you of your anniversary? I thought that was pretty funny...
my read shelf:
nope. I'm boycotting ever since they kicked us off the island (to use Aggie's phrase)
my read shelf:
Hi! Happy Anniversary to my fellow 5/21-ers.
We don't have any close couple friends who have divorced. We talk about who we think will though. It's sad to think, but realistically, a good chunk of our group will end up divorced. Maybe fewer than in other circles since most of us are Catholic / had Catholic ceremonies and it's less common, but still.
As for TK, I've been over a little bit lurking. I don't post much, but the drama is fantastic. People are all up in arms over the format change and there's a feud on CC that cracks me up. Seriously people, this is an internet message board. Really not that serious.
Well I went and looked at the truck. It's big. Very big. It's a full sized truck. I mean it has a full sized bed, and also an extended cab. It's huge. I wouldn't test drive it - I made the sales agent drive and I just rode. haha. I have a feeling in a few days that beast will be sitting in front of our house.
I also have not been to TK since they kicked us off. I never lurked on any boards anyhow, so why start now.
E - DH is also driving me nuts with his new vehicle shopping. I already told him it's his money so he can get what he wants, my only requirements are it has cruise (he has a lead foot) and a full sized back seat with latch hooks for our eventual children. I'm not the one who will be making the payments or filling the tank, so the rest I basically care less about. I'm glad he's not making a decision without me, though.
my read shelf:
No. It's 90 right now.
I want spring weather! Not summer weather.
