Hi! We are going to Rehoboth beach in Aug for the first time.  If anyone has any thoughts, advice on anything they would like to say  about that place we would love to hear it. We have two kids ages 4 and 5 and are staying at One Virgina Ave on the boardwalk.  Thank you so much! :)

  • You will love it! Rehoboth is my favorite of all of the beaches in that area! Your kids are the perfect age for Funland which has several rides and games for young children- right on the boardwalk. It can get crowded, but it is something you can do earlier in the day when its less crowded if that bothers you. My family always had a tradition to go to Royal Treat which is a cute ice cream place on Wilmington Ave. We also love Grottos for pizza and Fins for seafood. It's so nice that you are staying on the boardwalk because like I said, parking can be very crazy in the evenings and it can get super crowded.

That is so good to hear- thank you for the feedback! Makes me feel good about picking that place! :)
  • I'm a DE native- Rehoboth is awesome!!  The boardwalk is great- Grotto's, Funland, mini golf, Dolly's, there's a movie theater close by... all the outlet shopping (tax free!), oh and there's a waterpark- Jungle Jim's that is a lot of fun!!!

Dewey Beach is a few minutes down the road (a drive), and is good night life (if you have a sitter or kids staying up late)...

Bethany Beach is about 20 minutes drive away and VERY family-friendly... there's a boardwalk, grand stand with live music on the weekends, a kiddie park by the boardwalk/main strip... all really nice.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

  • Rehobeth is Great, but make sure you check out Ocean CIty, Md! It's great for families and it has one of the best boardwalks in the nation. Only about 30 minutes south of Rehobeth.
  • Though I am from MA, I spent my summers at Rehoboth and Bethany Beaches.  Those vacations are some of my favorite memories...enjoy!
