How MM was your Memorial Day Weekend?

I know Monday isn't over yet, but here's a jumpstart for those who are "done" spending for the long weekend.

On Saturday we spent $44.78 on dinner at Olive Garden.

On Sunday we got lunches at Subway totaling: $18.43.

Monday we spent $2.95 on two sodas while at a Memorial Day picnic.

TOTAL: $66.16

Re: How MM was your Memorial Day Weekend?

  • We spent 39.99 (weird) on groceries over a couple different trips. I also gave two dollars to one of the regular homeless guys in our neighborhood. So that is 41.99 total.

We went to the Pacific Science Center today and watched an IMAX documentary about the Hubble and a Justin Beiber laser show.  It would have cost us $54 for today but we pay $100 a year for our membership so it cost us nothing today.

Tonight I am teaching my 13 year old how to make spaghetti sauce from scratch.  Then she'll be able to make it on her own when I work late. She is already really good at cooking pasta.

  • We spent $20 for a tip at a restaurant Saturday night (the meal was a gift card.)

Sunday we spent $21 on lunch and a hair trimmer thing H needed to replace.

Monday, we spent about $10 on food.

So, about $50 for the weekend. Everything else we did we used gift cards!

  • Ours was not very good. Went to the grocery store twice to take advantage of a meat sale (stocking up our deep freezer) and spent about $150 between the two trips.

Went garage sale shopping for baby on Saturday and got some of the bigger things that we were missing for $36 total. While we were out stopped into BK to get their $1 frozen lemonades- so that was $2. Also stopped at the maternity clothing store to get me some summer stuff. Got to use a coupon but still spent $110 on some summer stuff to get me through another month and a half. (at least I will hopefully be able to use this as we want 2 or more kids)

Today I ran to Target to buy some closet organizers and spent $25.

Total was an expensive weekend of over $300. However, hopefully our baby spending will slow down- and now the deep freezer is stocked again!

we did lasagna (3 pans) garlic bread (made out of the left over buns from the party on saturday) and a "fluff" dessert that my Grandma used to make that is a family favorite. We do a 20 person family dinner every other Sunday (my mom and I take turns hosting, so we each do 1x per month) so I have gotten good at keeping them low cost! :)

  • My birthday is today so this weekend was so much fun.  Friday night we went to a baseball game and spent $25 in food.  MIL bought our tickets.  Saturday we went to an amusement park with my parents and DD.  They bought the tickets.  We spent about $25 for dinner there.  Today we bought a couple small patio end tables that were $30 total.  I did a little retail shopping:  dress - $45 shoes - $35 top and shorts - $40.  A few things at ulta - $18.  Dinner tonight - $35.  Every single thing I bought today I had a coupon for:)  I also used all my bday money and gift card.
