Must a gal jump through?!?!?
I am headed back to the business today at lunch to meet with a couple more people- but was told it was not for evaluation, just to meet them. Riiiiight. And then, because I can't just keep taking time off of work, I am headed there AFTER work to talk with the boss. I have been told that is just to go over everything, and we may talk compensation/benefits.
They told me on Friday that they are not interviewing anyone else... which makes me feel like theyhave made up their mind... so why oh why can't they just work out the details with the recruiter, and make me a stinkin offer??
It has been so hard to come in to work every day and pretend like I don't have one foot out the door!
Sorry for the vent... Here's the real point..
Out of curiousity, What was the interview process for your current/past jobs? For the company I work for now, there are typically 3 interviews.. one with the supervisors, one with the manager one level up from supervisor, and then one with that manager's manager. The manager interviews are typically done in one visit, though, so it's only two trips.
How about you? What was your most heinous interview process? How about the best? Any funny stories?

Re: How Many Hoops
When I interviewed for my job, 8 and 1/2 years ago, I was 17. The office manager is soon to be ex-SIL of my pseudo-aunt (my Matron of Honor)... jeez, that's a mouthful... I was looking to leave the "nanny" position I was in and the office manager asked my MH is she knew anyone like me who was looking for a job and my MH said. well, Mailyn IS looking for a job. They called me in one day after school and I sat in with 2 of the partners, the other was a jerk and they showed him the door not longer after I started there. They joked around with me and were really excited but told me they had a lot of applicants, some that were older and more qualified than me. It was an entrance position just doing clerical work like scanning and filing. I spoke to my MH a few days later, and found out that they had hired someone with more experience. I was upset but it's just a job, right. They called me 2 weeks later, the last day of school before winter break, and asked me to come in again. I came in, they told me that the person they hired didn't work out and they wondered if I was still interested. I told them I was and asked when they wanted me to start... their reply? 2 weeks ago. I started that Monday
I found out later that they didn't expect me to last more than 2 weeks. I guess I proved them wrong. Since then, I have worked in Collections, fronted the Evictions dept., and now I am leading the Scheduling dept. Every day here is an adventure.
Recently, I started sitting in on some interviews. We do one interview with a "team leader" (that's what they call our dept. heads, like I am team leader of scheduling) and they feel you out, then they may call you back for a second interview and bring in what may be your team leader and the office manager to discuss salary.
I've been with my company for 7.5 years, so this is almost like uncharted territory for me.
I'm sure you ladies understand... It's just odd to think that I may be going to work somewhere else soon!
It feels strange to be doing this again, but I can't ignore the position.. it's exactly where I want to go from here.
But tonight marks #4. That's a lot, right?

It seems like a lot, but I've only worked for small organizations (less than 50 employees), so that could be why.
If this is what you want to do I would stick with it. If anything, hopefully the extra vetting will just ensure that you're the right fit for them and they're the right fit for you.
