If you SAH, do you have a daily/weekly schedule that you keep, or is it go with the flow in your household?
I was wondering about this earlier. Thanks for cluing me in! :-)
Re: SAHM- a question?
there is no formal routine, though i did think about doing that at one point.
when J first came home the first few months were really a tough adjustment. i have never been very domestic or housewifey, so i wasn't doing much and it was causing issues. i began doing meal plans and then J began napping better, so i was able to get myself in to the groove of taking care of cleaning and organization stuff during that time, as well as getting a shower myself.
now that it's been 7.5 months with him there is no real routine but i make sure to keep up with things day to day. i do a lot of spot cleaning so that nothing gets too out of control, then requiring a ton of attention at once.
How in the world is Jack 7.5 months? Wasn't he just born?

After 25 months- medicated cycles and a failed IUI- The most planned surprise baby ever is on his way!
MRads this was my EXACT thought when I read CCH's post!!!
My Ovulation Chart

We don't have a written down schedule but we definitely have a daily and weekly routine. Like, for example, I clean our floors every Thursday and I vacuum every Saturday. Laundry is on Sunday and I wash our bedding every other week on Monday.
I could probably write a daily schedule since we pretty much do the same thing every day. Of course everything has to be flexible because you will always have days where naps don't happen or baby doesn't feel good or anything else but after doing this for over a year we have a pretty good system.
Meal planning definitely helps and I have a mental checklist of what needs to be done around the house that was a physical checklist for the first few months.

I will be SAH full time in 2 weeks!
Last summer and on breaks I found it helpful to get one "major" chore done during nap time each day. I also kept up with day to day things like dishes.
Cleaning chores I saved for his nap time. Other things, like laundry, can be done whenever. Sometimes the timing varied if we were going somewhere in the morning. I like to do our activities in the morning as DS is usually ready for a nap 12:30 or 1.
5 cats. 1 baby.
yeah....believe me, i am in denial myself. it's like marriage-i feel like it was yesterday, and like it was forever ago, all at the same time. i can't believe we are on the downside towards his first birthday. happy and sad!
also, much like sb, we don't have a routine it is simply based on his schedule. he is napping every 1.5-2 hours for anywhere from 1-2 hours (usually a long nap in the morning, then a shorter one in the afternoon and sometimes he will take another cat nap in late afternoon). the routine is based upon what time he woke up for the day (between 7-9am) and how long his naps have been.
I currently SAH (though won't always . . . sad face.) Our days look like this:
- wake up in the 7 o'clock hour
- eat, play for about an hour and a half
- nap
- get dressed, eat, go to the gym (she plays in the daycare there)
- come home, play, eat, play, nap (I shower somewhere in there) - if she won't nap, then errands
- DH gets home, plays with her, tries to get her down for another nap (doesn't always happen)
- dinner
- bath
- play
- nurse
- bed
