Europe in July

Hi, my husband and I are going to London, Amsterdam, Paris and about 5 cities in Italy this July, as part 2 of our honeymoon (1st part was in Bora Bora) Do any of you have any must see or must do things in those places. It's going to be a 16 day trip, so i hope we have enought time to do some fun things.

Re: Europe in July

  • which cities in italy and why so many in such short time? you get like 1.5 days in a city only. i can see why you're 'hoping' you have enough time to do some fun things. imo cut it down.

Parliament building, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, British Museum, Tate Modern, Tower of London, Tower bridge, Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards Parade, Hyde Park, West End theater performance, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank's house, canal tours, cycling, Van Gogh museum, red light district, the Louvre, Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Les Catacombes, Montmartre, Basilique de Sacre Couer, Bateau Mouche (at night), Musee d'Orsay, Latin Quarter, Versailles, Colosseum, St. Peter's, Vatican museum, Colosseum, Roman forum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Il Duomo, Baptistery, Campanille, Galleria dell' Academia, Boboli Gardens, Piazza della Signoria...  and stuff in those other three cities.

Given the schedule of 8 cities in 16 days, I am of course assuming you do not plan to sleep and have perfected the art of teleportation.

  • Don't forget the coffee shops in Amsterdam ;) hahaha

I think PP pretty much covered everything else in all of the cities you are visiting....if you are planning to do a lot of sightseeing, just try to plan out your days only because there is so much to see and do, and in such a short amount of time, it might get overwhelming if you try to just wing it. Have fun!

  • You might enjoy some downtime in a beachy town in Italy on the coast.  There were nice beaches in the Cinque Terre (specifically Monterosso).  It's a 3 hour easy train ride from Florence (a must-see Italian city). I'm sure there are other fun/pretty beach towns in the southern part near the Amalfi Coast (more accessible from Naples or maybe Rome).

     Enjoy!!

  • That's a lot to see in 16 days.  We're going to Italy next month and are visiting 3 cities (Venice, Florence & Rome) and I was worried about having enough time to do that many....

I'd really recommend cutting that list in half.
